Clown d'Honneur of the World Parliament of Clowns, Creative Member of Club of Budapest Worldshift Network and member of the World
Wisdom Council Bibi Russell is an acclaimed designer devoted to the
promotion of trading crafts in the cause of human dignity, development,
and eradication of poverty. For her commitment to improving the lives
of the weavers in Bangladesh, Bibi Russell was named UNESCO Special
Envoy:"Designer for Development". Now, after a long time of lacking
resources she announces the opening of her first shop paying tribute to
the magical creation of the crafts people of Bangladesh. The opening
ceremony takes place on Friday 25th July 2008 at 3:00pm to 8:00pm.
Business hours will be from 10:00am to 8:00pm except Friday. The shop
resides in Road No. 27 (16 New), House No. 45 (3rd floor), Dhanmondi,
Dhaka 1209.

Clown d’Honneur becomes Mathematics Ambassador |

The four times world champion in mental arithmetic and Clown
d’Honneur of the Parliament of Clowns, Dr. Dr. Gert Mittring, has been
elected Mathematics Ambassador for the Year of Mathematics 2008. Gert
Mittring received this award because he commits himself to the youth
and to the economy in this field. Together with the mathematician Caro
Merkel he will supervise the “1st World Championship in Mental
Arithmetic for Students” in Nuremberg/Germany. His motto is:
Mathematics counts, because through mathematics you learn how to think.
The World Parliament of Clowns congratulates Gert Mittring on this award and wishes him good luck with his honorary post.
